HEARING AIDS

Picture

Acuity Hearing Solutions dispenses the Widex and Oticon Hearing Aid product lines

Today’s hearing aids are vastly improved from the hearing aids of the past.

There are a wide range of technologies to help you hear better in a variety of listening situations.

  • Background noise is minimized for better hearing in noisy environments

  • Programs that work to automatically select the best settings for your environment

  • Dedicated programs for speech enhancement, tinnitus management, telephone use, TV.

When Dr. Horowitz makes a house call she makes every effort to assess and understand your hearing problems and offer a personalized solution for your hearing loss. She carefully explains how your hearing loss may be helped with various technologies and strives to give you a realistic idea of what you may expect from the instruments.

It is important to remember that no hearing aid will restore hearing to normal.

Wearing two hearing aids has the advantage of:

     Balancing your hearing
Delivering better results in background noise and social situations
Allowing the ability to set the hearing aids at a lower volume level than when
using just one aid -  which will be more comfortable and help prevent
     feedback (squealing)
Preventing auditory deprivation (atrophy of the hearing nerves and areas of
the brain responsible for hearing) in both ears
